ABOUT ME

Greetings, my name is Shuaiqi Hu( 胡帅琦 ), and I hail from Nanjing, China–known as the Capital City of Six Dynasties in China’s history. Back in 2014, I crossed the Atlantic and settled in Michigan, where I stayed for the next six years.  I was a Secondary Mathematics Education major student at Michigan State University and then worked in a Montessori classroom, as a math teacher for one year. I joined Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion school as a Chinese and Math teacher in August 2020. I teach 9th grade Chinese, and 9th&10th Geometry, and Algebra 2. My husband recently moved to Dallas, Texas, so I've had to relocate once more to take a teaching position at Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School. Now I teach Geometry and Pre-Calculus. So, that's the whole saga of my years of teaching in the United States.

Talking about hobbies outside school, I love learning new languages. I am a native Chinese speaker, fluent English speaker, intermediate level Japanese speaker, and I want to learn a few more. Learning new languages is pretty fun, but now I do not have time to learn in a learning center, so I usually learn by using apps on my phone. Also, I define myself as a “tech person”, I would love to get news and updates on new electronics products, to see how cool technology changes our world. I also love to play video games to build social connections between me and my friends through shared adventures.
