Creation Description

Please reflect on what revisiting your Unit 1 Quickfire and initial (Unit 1) theory of learning brought up for you.

It was such a interesting journey in CEP 800, and I really love how we reflect and revisit our Theory of learning : Keep adding something new from we just learned in each Unit. I believe it was a great idea to make our writing more meaningful. In the past, I was so afraid to write an essay with citation, I feel it was “Make connection with paper because I have to make connection.” However, for this time, we add something new every time, and we make connection because we have already made a point by ourselves, so it was more convincing for both myself and readers.

For my initial theory, the thing I was “wrong”, was I initially thought infants learn survival skills, such as learning how to eat and drink. However, the fact is they are born with these survival skills, and they are not intentionally to do this. As a result, I shift my point of view to ZPD and children’s development. The thing I was right in the initial writing, was I mentioned some factors that will influence learning, and now I still feel they are worth discussing.

After learning so many course readings, I found my level of quickfire was not deep. After learning more, I have more to say compared to my original quick thinking. The thing I was “right” about my Quickfire, was I mentioned learning was not linear, and it may perform several times until learners acquire. I also mentioned this in my personal theory of learning. The thing I was “wrong” about my Quickfire, was I didnt think about any factors that will influence people learning : Different people learn differently, and I did not take that into account.

PS: thank you for creating such a great learning environment for us and I really appreciate it . 🙂
